The Fall 2024 collection from alice + olivia revisits various significant visual art movements: ’60s Pop-Art, ’70s abstract murals, ’80s graffiti art, ’90s photography, a cloud room representing AI, an old master surrealist moss sculpture garden, symbolizing timeless fashion as its own art… all serving to remind us that fashion is truly an art form.
The 1960s artist Tom Wesselmann once said, “the challenge for an artist is always to find your own way of doing something,” a sentiment that resonates with fashion design today. Wesselmann is aniconic artist, coined the Father of Pop Art movement of the ‘60s. His work includes collages and abstract assemblages of everyday objects. As part of the FW24 collection, alice + olivia brings Tom Wesselmann’s art to life with a collaboration based on three of his paintings: Limitless, Still Life, and Natural Beauty.
